Transcend Corporate, the independent mid-market corporate finance firm, has opened a new office in Hong Kong. This allows Transcend to more readily access and serve the growing, but currently underserved, mid-market and cross-border M&A activity in the region. The new office is located in Central, in the heart of Hong Kong’s international business district.

The new office builds on the recent deal flow which Transcend has built with China, having now completed a number of transactions involving mid-market Chinese counterparties. The Hong Kong office complements Transcend’s established offices in the UK, in Birmingham and Reading, and our international network i-DealNet, and helps provide a seamless service offering to clients in both regions looking to pursue cross-border M&A.

Matthew Imison, the Transcend partner leading the Hong Kong office, commented: “With UK business vendors increasingly seeking a wider international base for prospective buyers, particularly within China, Transcend’s aim is to find the best solutions for clients and, in particular, opening up an often-inaccessible strategic buyer base.
"China continues to drive global growth and remains an active investor and purchaser of Western European businesses, particularly in key strategic sectors.”
“Having recently relocated to Hong Kong, I am extremely excited to lead this initiative which serves to underline Transcend’s reputation as an innovative and progressive independent corporate finance firm. The initial feedback we have received from the market has been very positive and this has been supported by recent client mandate wins in which there is a strong emphasis on searching for strategic Chinese acquirers.”
