Pitmans Law, the legal firm with offices in Reading and London, has completed the sale of PTL, the independent trustee and governance services provider, through a management buyout. PTL is now a fully independent, manager-owned business.

John Hutchinson, managing partner, Pitmans Law, commented: “The sale of PTL is another key step in Pitmans strategy to focus our business on providing core commercial legal advisory services with an uncompromising focus on achieving outstanding client outcomes. With our particularly strong specialist teams in pensions advisory, real estate, dispute resolution as well as corporate and commercial law our growth plans continue apace to provide city quality legal advice at a competitive price for our clients locally, nationally and internationally. We wish PTL all the very best as they proceed with their independent venture.”

Richard Butcher, managing director at PTL, said“This is a hugely important, pivotal and exciting time for the PTL team. The MBO, which is the management putting their money where their mouth is, demonstrates our long term commitment to this industry and to our clients. The firm, which was first incorporated in 1994, has grown to 25 staff over its 23 years and now boasts offices in five UK locations.  We will shortly be announcing its 2016/17 year-end results – which, once again, show double-digit growth.”
