Reading FC invites Championship clubs to join ‘Twenty’s Plenty’
Reading FC have asked the other 19 championship clubs to agree to their ‘Twenty’s Plenty’ away ticket pricing scheme.
Reading, who have held their away ticket prices at £20 since 2016, have now asked the other clubs in the league to reciprocate.
Under the scheme, fans of clubs who agree will continue to be sold tickets at £20 in exchange for the same price being offered to Reading’s fans. Fans of clubs who have not agreed will be charged a new price of £27.
So far Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town have agreed.

The letter sent by Reading reads: “For the 2022-23 season there will a marginal price rise to our ticket prices. We are very proud, however, that our matchday ticket prices remain amongst the most competitive across the Championship.
Since 2016, we have championed Twenty’s Plenty and although we have now raised our prices above £20, your Club will be given the opportunity to offer your fans £20 tickets when your team visits Reading next season…but only if you commit in advance to a reciprocal arrangement for our away fans not to pay more than £20 in the reverse fixture...
Please note, the reciprocal arrangement prices will only apply to tickets purchased in advance.
We are actively trying to help football remain affordable to fans and I am writing to you to see if you would like to reciprocate on an advanced £20 adult ticket price.
Please let me know if you think this will be possible or if you would like to discuss this further.
Many thanks,
Reading Football Club”
Under league guidelines, clubs are only allowed to charge away fans a price equivalent to that which they charge their own supporters in a comparable section of the stadium. Reading have kept their home tickets cheap and so their away tickets have remained so too.
The recent move has been popular on social media, with a number of the top football accounts tweeting in support.
