Blandy & Blandy's leading employment law team is staging two seminars, focusing on minimising risks to your business.

The Reading and Henley firm is holding a breakfast seminar on Thursday, February 6, at Crowe, Aquis House, Reading, on employment status.

Employment Status - Steering the Path through IR35
How Can You Prepare For the Changes to Off-Payroll Working Rules?

The quagmire of defining 'Employment Status' (employee, worker, or self-employed contractor?) continues to cause businesses (including end-users requiring staff and Intermediaries supplying staff) significant difficulties.
The situation will be further complicated by the changes to the IR35 tax regime effective from April 2020, with private-sector businesses being brought into line with the IR35 obligations and implications currently applicable only to public-sector organisations.

Alongside national audit, tax advisory and risk firm Crowe, Blandy & Blandy will explain the new IR35 tax regime, the implications for your business and how to prepare.

The firm said: "This is a must-attend seminar if your organisation engages the services of contractors on either a self-employed basis; through consultancy agreements, or otherwise. There is no cost to attend this event."

The following month, another seminar is being held.

What's New for Legal and Regulatory Compliance in the Workplace?

Thursday March 5, 2020, 8.45am, Green Park, Reading.

The seminar will look at recent and emerging changes in employment law and good HR practice.

The firm said: "We will will focus on ‘lessons to be learned’ from case law, as well as recent legislative and regulatory changes, to help you minimise and manage any associated business risks. It is also an opportunity to network with our team and fellow professionals. There is no cost to attend this event."
