Verisona Law has announced that the newest member of its corporate & commercial team, Grant Usher, has been shortlisted for the LawNet 2017 Young Lawyer of the Year.

Portsmouth solicitor Grant Usher has been singled out by national legal network Lawnet for his achievements over the past six months.

Having joined Verisona Law in April 2017, newly-qualified Usher immediately set to work alongside the firm’s chairman, Michael Dyer, and head of corporate & commercial, Stephen Ryde-Weller, on several high-profile transactions which attracted national attention, including the sale of Portsmouth Football Club to ex-Disney CEO Michael Eisner’s Tornante Group.

"Grant managed an immense Data Room, packed with confidential information and completely mastered it," said Michael Dyer who led the team. "He dealt with extensive and detailed business enquiries and quickly demonstrated his ability to understand, grasp and deal with complex and specialist issues, making a crucial contribution to the team."

In addition to the sale of Portsmouth Football Club, Usher has worked on corporate deals, trade and supply agreements, and contractual terms and conditions for some of Verisona Law’s most prestigious clients across a range of niche sectors, including marine, sports and charitable enterprises.

The presentation of the LawNet Awards 2017 Young Lawyer of the Year will take place on November 10 at Heythrop Park Resort, Oxfordshire. Approximately 200 delegates will attend including senior management from all LawNet firms and key business partners and sponsors.
