Frank Dixie, managing director of PSP, announced the firm’s brand-new expansion plans in Poole at the Southampton Boat Show on Friday (September 11).
Having opened its Poole office last year, the worldwide logistics firm is working closely with Poole Harbour Commissioners to bring more businesses to the port as the only freight-forwarder situated inside Poole Harbour.
The harbour has a current depth of 7.5m. Dredging is underway to increase the depth to 9.5m. This will allow PSP the opportunity to bring heavy lifts vessels into Poole to handle the heavier freight which to date has gone to other ports.
Dixie said: “The decision to open an office in Poole was a strategic one. We recognised that Poole has a wealth of industry as well as an ambitious culture. In addition PSP is a preferred supplier to Sunseeker Yachts so this will be good news for them.”
