Actisense saw a successful year of business in 2018, which has continued in the first half of 2019, with turnover increasing by 30%. This is largely due to continued international trade with 45 countries and the launch of an innovative Wi-Fi gateway, the W2K-1.

Building on the company’s growth, Actisense, based in Poole, has hired two new members of staff, Nidhi Sharma and Aidan Batten. They will be responsible for ensuring that Actisense has the capacity to handle the increase in orders for marine electronics, maintaining the expected high quality of Actisense products and providing support for senior members of staff.

One of the first hires of 2019 was Sharma, who joined Actisense in April and works as a test engineer. She is responsible for testing the firmware of Actisense products and using her extensive knowledge of programming languages to ensure the software of each product works.

Actisense has also welcomed Batten as a junior hardware engineer. He recently finished a degree in Electronic Engineering at the University of Portsmouth and will work alongside the senior members of Actisense’s hardware team whilst he develops his workplace experience.

Phil Whitehurst, CEO of Actisense, said: “The growth of Actisense has allowed us to hire three extremely talented, young, and enthusiastic new members of staff who I’m very pleased to welcome to the team. The new team members will enable further growth in the company and ensure our quality marine electronics continue to innovate and transform the industry.”
