Millbrook Healthcare, a family run business supplying a range of mobility, independence and aftercare solutions for healthcare needs, has doubled its warehouse capacity at Milton Park in Oxfordshire.

From its service centre at Milton Park, Millbrook Healthcare provides a vital service on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council and NHS, delivering and installing equipment which ensures that county residents are able to continue to live safely in their own homes, rather than be admitted to hospital or other care settings.

Currently occupying 12,198 sq ft at Unit 38A, Innovation Drive, Millbrook Healthcare has taken a further 14,622 sq ft at neighbouring Unit 38B, to total 26,820 sq ft, to facilitate its online and contract growth.

Millbrook Healthcare is a subsidiary of Millbrook Industries, originally set up as an upholstery company in 1946, which today has four principal operating areas: beds, furniture/furnishings, healthcare, and the specialised spraying of armoured vehicles in Europe for a military client.

The Healthcare division was formed in 1998, when it was awarded its first wheelchair service contract by Plymouth Health Authority.  Today, such contracts involve providing up to 240 different products, designed to assist with daily living in service users’ own homes, to help support and maintain independence.  The company also installs minor adaptations such as handrails, door entry systems and ramps, as well as assisted technology, such as Telecare.

With sales of over £60 million per annum, the company now employs more than 500 people and operates from 22 sites across the UK.

Millbrook's commitment to quality, as well as its determination to reduce the environmental impact of its operations, is borne out in its certification to ISO9001:2008 and ISO:14001:2004.

Colin Croll, chairman, Millbrook Industries, said:  “Next year we will be celebrating our 70th anniversary in business.  As our business goes from strength to strength and reacts to changing needs and increased demand, we need facilities which are able to provide the full range of services we deliver to the people of Oxfordshire.  Milton Park is well positioned to offer the accommodation to meet these needs and ensure we have sufficient capacity as the services expand further.”

Jo Szegota, commercial manager, MEPC Milton Park, said:  “It’s great to see Millbrook expanding at such a fast rate.  We are delighted to have been able to support them in their expansion with their second industrial unit and wish them continued success.”
