Newbury's Gamma Communications announces Andrew Belshaw as new CEO
Gamma Communications have announced that their interim CEO and previous CFO, Andrew Belshaw, has been appointed the company's permanent CEO.
In 2014, Andrew was hired by the Newbury-based telecommunications service provider as its CFO, where he oversaw a period of significant development before being promoted to deputy CEO in May of this year. In July, he was appointed CEO on a temporary basis.
Following a recruitment process that included outside consultants, Andrew was hired. He replaces Andrew Taylor, who retired back in July for personal reasons.
In September, Gamma Communications said that its pre-tax profit for the first half of 2022 was £38.4 million, up 19% from £32.4 million in the same period in the previous year.
"We have a robust balance sheet that will allow us to continue to invest in the business as well as support organic growth with selected acquisitions," Andrew had said as interim CEO when announcing the company's half year results.
Gamma Chairman Richard Last said this about Andrew's appointment: "I am pleased to be able to announce the appointment of Andrew as Chief Executive. There are exciting opportunities ahead for Gamma, and Andrew, with the support of the Gamma leadership team and the board, is well placed to ensure that we capitalise upon them."
