Networking expert Stefan Thomas to run workshop on becoming a paid public speaker
International motivational speaker and author of Business Networking for Dummies Stefan Thomas is holding two one-day workshops coaching individuals in how to speak on a public stage and how to find clients who will pay for strong speakers.
Stefan, an international keynote speaker and trainer, has spoken in front of audiences from two to 2500 people and has been a paid public speaker since 2010. He runs his business from Oxfordshire.
“My background is in sales, yet I was the one who’d give readings at family events and things evolved. I was giving a talk at one networking event and was approached by someone who asked how much I’d charge to speak at their company and things went from there.
“People with a message or expertise have no idea about how to start speaking in the public arena and I can help them do it. I also want to help individuals understand how to turn public speaking into a side hustle or a business for themselves.”
Today Stefan regularly gives talks around the world and his clients have included B.T, Lloyds Bank and Utility Warehouse.
“People do get nervous speaking in from of a group of people. I’ll be providing the coping strategies to deal with this. During the workshop I will demonstrate the skills you need to deliver a polished performance in front of strangers. The day will allow for you to practice and refine your presentation within a safe environment so that you will leave more confident in your speaking ability.”
The bespoke events are limited to eight attendees. Before the day, attendees will have a one-to-one with Stefan (on Zoom) to discuss the speaking career they want to achieve. In addition there are course materials, a LinkedIn group for questions, discussions and networking with the other attendees after the event has ended.
“We will pack a lot into seven hours with guest speakers explaining how they kick-started their public speaking careers too. By the end of the seven hours you'll have learnt not only how to speak better, but how to get paid to do so too.”
The Speaking Retreat will be held on Wednesday March 1 2023, from 9am - 4pm and then again on Wednesday April 19. The venue is Witney Business and Innovation Centre, Burford Road, Witney, Oxfordshire, OX29 7DX.
