Netomnia has announced that its full fibre multi-gigabit network will begin rollout in Guildford, Surrey.

Netomnia will provide Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband infrastructure to around 52,000 premises in Guildford as part of an investment of up to £15.6 million in the area, delivering access to its robust and reliable broadband network and contributing to the South East’s growing business economy.

As one of the UK's most competitive cities outside of London, the deployment of ultrafast and reliable broadband will help to expand Guildford's largely knowledge-based workforce consisting of financial, business and professional services.

The company is partnering with DELTEQ to roll out its broadband infrastructure, allowing for a strong speed of deployment and execution capability, using cutting edge optical solutions.

Alan O’Prey, Managing Director at Netomnia, commented: “To continue our development in the South East is a massive achievement for Netomnia. We’re thrilled to add Guildford as our latest rollout location to provide residents with access to ultrafast full-fibre broadband at a time when it is most imperative.

“Guildford is known not only for its business and finance sectors but also for being home to some of the world's leading scientific companies where reliable, consistent broadband is vital.”

Netomnia secured £123 million in funding to support its rollout strategy at the end of 2021 and aims to reach one million premises by 2023.

The network operator makes wholesale connectivity available to Internet Service Providers (ISPs), building the infrastructure for their broadband services. Its broadband infrastructure supports symmetrical (equal upload and download speeds) multi-gigabit services up to 10 Gbps (10,000 Mbps) using XGS-PON technology; this means ISPs using Netomnia’s network will be able to offer their customers reliable ultrafast speeds for decades to come.
