HMT LLP, led by partner Mark Lucas and director Peter Wear, has advised on the disposal of specialist recruitment business The Vacancy Management Company (VMC) to 1-1 Recruitment.

VMC specialises in designing and delivering resourcing strategies for clients within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, and has extensive team-build experience across diverse roles for either permanent or contract positions. Based in Hampshire since incorporation in 2000, VMC has also provided profile-testing services and HR support to its clients over the past 15 years.

VMC has been acquired by 1-1 Recruitment, also established in 2000 and with offices in Basingstoke and Winchester, which specialises in placing employees across a range of industries. The acquisition of VMC will cement 1-1 Recruitment’s position as one of the leading independent recruitment agencies in the region.

HMT provided corporate finance advice to the shareholder of VMC, Ian Fogg, on his retirement from the business.

Fogg said: “I would like to thank HMT for their invaluable advice on the sale of VMC to 1-1 Recruitment, especially for their expertise in finding the right home for my excellent team. I look forward to working with them again in the future.”

Wear commented: “We were delighted to have advised Ian on the disposal of VMC, and we wish 1-1 Recruitment every success as they look to build on VMC’s reputation for excellent service within healthcare and pharmaceutical recruitment.”
