Hampshire: Fleet caterer Pabulum wins £7.5m school dinner contracts
Local independent contract caterer Pabulum, has taken a big bite out of the education catering market, securing multiple contract wins worth over £7.5 million this new term.
The Fleet-based school meal provider has won contracts to serve up healthy and nutritionally well-balanced school meals to over 8,200 children in 11 academies, a community college as well as primary and secondary schools across the south.
The new contracts will provide a boost to the local economy as well as bolster Pabulum’s position as one of the largest providers of freshly prepared school meals in the region.
Pabulum’s high-quality and innovative menus created from local, sustainably-sourced produce impressed the management at the Essex, Bristol, Kent London and Cambridge schools. Good service and a strong track record at other local schools and sister academies were also key factors in appointing Pabulum.
Managing director, Nelson Williams, said: “There is no doubt that Pabulum has been brought on board at these schools as a result of our passion for good quality, nutritious food. However, word of mouth and client referrals have also played a crucial part in gaining us the new business.
“As well as generating excitement around the wide-ranging menus made with the freshest British ingredients, we will be making major investments to the dining facilities at two schools to create contemporary new counters that will bring a fresh new service to students.”
