Guildford’s TachMed announces collaboration with private GP service
Guildford based Digital diagnostic tech company TachMed has announced its partnership with private GP service Doctor Now.
The companies will work together on the trials and roll-out of TachMed products. TachMed said that the insight gathered from these trials will play a vital role in marketing their devices to other organisations, namely the NHS.
CEO of Doctor Now Gary Robinson will be joining the TachMed advisory board to help with the integration of TachMed products in Doctor Now's service. Gary will provide both clinical feedback on TachMed products and work with the company’s research team on new technologies and devices.
Gary said: “I am delighted to have been invited to join the advisory board of TachMed on behalf of Doctor Now and the leadership team. Seeking to disrupt the current pathology market with cloud-based, at-home testing technology.
‘’TachMed’s progressive approach to healthcare will allow us to deliver test results at a fraction of the time and cost of traditional wet labs. In addition, point-of-care devices will provide a more efficient, fairer and faster service for patients and the wider health economy. I’m really excited to see how this technology will improve patient outcomes around the world over the coming years.”
Doctor Now is a GP service open for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The introduction of the TachMed Device, a home installed testing device that collects and instantly sends diagnostic/symptom data to your GP, will improve the efficiency of both diagnosis and subsequent treatment at Doctor Now.
Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at TachMed Paul Christie said: “There is a clear meeting of minds between Tachmed and Doctor Now, with both businesses determined to improve primary health services and deliver a digital-first operating model that’s fit for the 21st century.''
