Oxford, Southampton and Portsmouth all placed within the top 20 out of the 40 cities studied.
Portsmouth placed 2nd overall, with a score of 63. Scores are measured metric by metric in this system, with lower scores being optimal. Portsmouth registered 10/40 points in Commuting Time, 29/40 points in Public Transport Quantity, 18/40 in Talent Pool, 3/40 in Cost of Workplace, 8/40 in Flexioffices' Availability, and 19/40 in Productivity.
Southampton placed 5th overall but only registered one additional point on Portsmouth's total, meaning it had a total score of 64. Southampton performed particularly well in both Cost of Worskpace and Productivity, scoring just six points in total between both sections.
Oxford placed 14th overall, with a total score of 87 points. The city's score was brought up by long commute times and a relatively low quantity of public transport. The results revealed, however, that Oxford is ranked 1st in the country for Access to Talent Pools and 5th for Cost of Workspace.
