Ex-RSM team sets up in Basingstoke after joining Shaw Gibbs

Oxford-headquartered Shaw Gibbs has opened up new offices in Basingstoke to house a team which previously worked for RSM.

The group, led by Corporate Tax Partner Tim Smith and Personal Tax Partner Jo Gibbons, brings a wealth of experience in corporate tax, personal tax, accounts, and outsourcing. Now under Shaw Gibbs, they will act for a client base of entrepreneurial businesses and private individuals.

Tim Smith said: “I have spent many years in the Hampshire market, most recently as Managing Partner of the RSM Basingstoke office where, as a firm, we operated for over 20 years.

“We decided to join Shaw Gibbs because we share the same culture, with the understanding of the importance of relationships and the focus on delivering high quality service and advice.

“I am pleased to have been able to find a practice who could see the potential in the team continuing to service clients locally.”

The new site in Basingstoke becomes the fourth office for Shaw Gibbs, which also operates in Oxford, London, and Farnham. It has been actively seeking new acquisitions following an injection of private equity funding in November 2022.
