Enfield-based fresh cream cake retailer Cake Box recorded an impressive 50% sales jump in the past year as its pandemic recovery goes from strength to strength.

The past six months have seen particular expansion, with record sales and new stores opening up all the time.

11 new franchise stores opened across Britain, taking their number to 35. That makes an overall total of some 185 Cake Box locations open to the cake-buying public in the UK.

The trial of Cake Box kiosks in various Asda supermarkets proved successful and grew the business too. A further ten new kiosks opened over the past year, meaning the company has a presence in 15 Asda stores nationwide. Add that to the group's current amount of 20 shopping centre kiosks and visibility is increasing rapidly.

Sukh Chamdal, co-founder and chief executive of Cake Box, said this about the news: “We have delivered another record performance for the year, demonstrating the continuing appeal of our customer and franchisee proposition. Our strategy to reach customers across the UK is starting to deliver."

“This is thanks to the dedication, determination and commitment of the exceptional entrepreneurs in our Cake Box family, which continues to grow, providing opportunities for entrepreneurs, creating jobs and providing delicious, fresh cream cakes up and down the country."

“With a strengthened team and investment in our operations and processes, we have all the right ingredients to continue to sustainably grow the Cake Box customer base, brand and family.”
