Big step forward in vehicle safety from Cirencester distributor
A Cirencester company is aiming to reduce the risk of serious injuries to people falling from vehicles by launching a new range of grip protectors.
More than 2,000 serious injuries to people falling from vehicles are reported to the Health & Safety Executive every year. According to one HSE report, falling from a vehicle due to slips and trips accounts for a third of all workplace transport accidents.
Managing Director at Line One Distributors, Jez Crook, said: “We initially introduced the product to protect rear bumpers from scrapes and scratches which it does superbly, but more of our customers are asking for something for all van access areas to reduce the risk of slips and falls."
Grip Protectors are designed to reduce the risk of slips and falls for drivers and passengers of all working vans entering and exiting their vehicles countless times a day in all weather conditions.
Jez added: “During the pandemic, we’ve been expanding the product offering to include side steps and footwells and have now launched the new Grip Protector range for all major working vans. They’re extremely easy to fit.”
Grip Protectors are the only product of their kind manufactured from Hydro-Turf which is used widely in the marine industry for its non-slip qualities in wet applications. The composite nature and combination of hard-wearing textures create an exceptional slip resistance in both dry and wet conditions.
One customer regards the product as essential for driver safety and vehicle protection for his courier vans. He has extended the retrofit to the side steps and footwells of his latest fleet acquisition, a Vauxhall Vivaro.
“Grip Protectors will now be fitted on all our vehicles. Drivers are in and out of the vans all day with packages and parcels, so safety from slips is crucial. They also provide protection from fork-lift scrapes and keep the vehicles looking neat and tidy,” said Martin White, owner of Rapido couriers in Gloucestershire.
