Palletline reaches milestone with full membership across UK and Ireland

West-Midlands headquartered pallet distribution network Palletline has reached a major milestone, which, it said, had eliminated its need for subcontractors and improved profitability.

The company is now fully member-owned across the whole of the UK and Ireland after recruiting more than 35 haulage specialists to the network in the last five years.

And it says with full member coverage and volume levels across the sector predicted to rise by 3 to 4% year-on-year, it is ideally positioned for sustainable growth.

"The elimination of subcontractors not only significantly reduces operational cost, but with every region now covered by a full member, our consistently high levels of service and customer experience have been maximised on a national scale," said Glenn Baker, network and operations director, who added that Palletline's reputation for quality and service had been key to attracting so many high-quality transport companies.

"Thanks to the hard work of everyone involved, Palletline is now in a position that every other pallet network strives to achieve: total membership with zero use of subcontractors," he added.

Palletline works on a multi-hub model. Members collect pallets from local customers and exchange them at one of its regional hubs.

All members sign up to a minimum two-year notice period, which ensures stability and consistency.

Palletline was launched in 1992 and operates in the UK, Ireland and across Europe.

Its logistics business consists of eight transport businesses; Mike Watson Transport, ABE Ledbury, S&S Distribution, Fast Forward Distribution, Palletline London, Palletline Whitehead, Palletline Northeast and Ningbo Wrexham.
