Westminster Group, the Banbury-based security firm, has expanded its contract to supply security services to His Majesty’s Royal Palace to cover the Fortress of the Tower of London and other Historic Royal Palaces sites.

Built by William the Conqueror in 1078, the Tower of London is a globally famous World Heritage Site. It has served as a Royal Palace, a fortress and a prison in its lifetime. As a prison, it housed famous names including Anne Boleyn and Guy Fawkes.

Other Historic Royal Palaces include Hampton Court Palace, Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle.

Westminster's Chief Executive, Peter Fowler, said: "I am delighted our Services Division has been awarded this important new contract expanding the scope of our services to the Historic Royal Palaces.

“This latest contract award demonstrates we have the reputation, skills and resources to secure and successfully deliver high profile contracts around the world.”

It has been a busy summer for the group, which last month (August) was awarded a mass entry screening contract for an 'iconic' UK building. In the same month, it reported a rise in its revenues of 13 per cent for the first half of 2022.
