Amiri Group, the construction, fit-out and special works business, has been appointed by Wynnstay Properties, working with Aitchison Developments, to build a three-unit trade counter development in Petersfield. Known as Phase Two, Parkers Trade Park, the scheme is located in the main commercial area of the town and comprises three units totalling 12,750 square feet.

Units 1 and 2, measuring 4,500 square feet and 3,750 sq ft respectively, have been pre-let to Screwfix and Tool Station. The third unit of 4,500 sq ft is available to let. The project is a return to the Bedford Road site for Amiri, who completed Phase One of the scheme in 2007 for a previous developer.

Amiri has also started work on its ninth project with Kingsbridge Estates, a leading developer of commercial space in the south. Amiri Interiors, a division of Amiri Construction, has started on a £1.2 million extension and refurbishment project to Charlotte Place in the centre of Southampton.

The works includes an extension to the front of the building to create a new and enhanced reception and first floor area, a new staircase, refurbishment works to the new first floor and breakout space. The project is due to complete at the start of the summer.

Martin Tidby, managing director of Amiri Construction, said: “We are very pleased to be working alongside Kingsbridge Estates on their latest project. Having undertaken a similar project before, we look forward to using that knowledge and delivering an exceptional Amiri project experience.”

Chris Fry, chief executive of Kingsbridge Estates, commented: “Charlotte Place is a prime example of our commitment to creating exciting and dynamic commercial space across the south – taking a local landmark building and carrying out significant refurbishment to meet the needs of modern employers.

“The improvements we are making, including a greatly enhanced reception area, flexible working space and quality-of-life facilities, such as bike storage and showers, will create an exceptional office environment in the heart of Southampton.”

London-based architect Minifie and Hedge End-based project managers and quantity surveyors Gleeds are involved with the project. Calcinotto is providing the structural engineering design and Ion Consulting Engineers is providing the mechanical and electrical design. Both are both based on the South Coast.
