Three reasons why Sustainable Green Investments are vital

Creating sustainable practices that are responsible both socially and environmentally are key to the success of a business.

When launching a new initiative, it can take a lot of scrutinous development to ensure that it will be effective and tenable enough to benefit the company.

As we launch our inaugural Hampshire Business Awards, we’re looking to celebrate sustainability through our Sustainable Green Investment Award.

Sponsored by FatFace, this award will recognise a company that has demonstrated a commitment to investing in green initiatives that make a positive impact on the world around them.

We’re no strangers to championing responsible practices at our awards; there are three main reasons why encouraging sustainable green investments is so significant:

Green investments are attractive to clients – Everyone is becoming more environmentally conscious as global industry progresses. Clients are far more likely to lean towards a company that can successfully implement green initiatives that are beneficial both socially and to its surroundings.

At our recent TV250 awards event, Huntswood took home the trophy for the Climate & Sustainability Award. Jayne Morris and Sara Robinson from the company had this to say: “Client expectations are that we should focus on sustainability and we also now have higher expectations of our suppliers in this area.”

Successful sustainable practices demonstrate strong leadership and reliability – It isn’t easy to launch sustainable company-wide initiatives. It takes a great deal of dedication and effective management.

Whenever we’ve presented awards for sustainability in the past, it has been to a team of entirely focussed and skilled professionals with an unwavering commitment to going green.

When Greencore Construction won the award for the Sustainable Development of the Year at the Thames Valley Property Awards 2021, they had this to say: “We’re delighted that the ESG agenda is rising to the top of people’s list of priorities. We are working to be a catalyst for change in the property development sector and are on a mission to build exemplar projects to show the works you can build net-zero or better now.”

A focus on green investments protects the environment and benefits society as a whole – Perhaps the most obvious reason as to why sustainability is so undeniably important is that it prevents further damage to the environment. Our judges are looking for a winner with a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Winners from previous events have won their awards with environmental health in mind. Reaction Engines, named Sustainable Tech Company of the Year at the Thames Valley Tech Awards 2022, said, “In the last couple of years, we have transformed our aerospace heat exchanger propulsion technology for single-stage take-off to orbit and are focusing on sustainable solutions for net zero carbon applications.”

So, have you made a sustainable green investment that you think is worthy of region-wide recognition?

If you think you deserve to be a winner at the Hampshire Business Awards, submit your nominations online now.

Entering our awards is quick, easy and completely free.

Companies across the country are striving to implement new sustainable and green initiatives into their businesses, but only one can be crowned the winner of the Sustainable Green Investment Award.
