Three features of the Employer of the Year

The companies featured on this year’s Solent 250 Ranking are some of the most impressive to date.

In large part, the success and growth they’ve exhibited over the past year is due to the incredible work of their management and leadership teams.

Sponsored by the University of Southampton Business School, the Employer of the Year will be presented to the company from the ranking that has fostered the most exceptional workplace.

Our judges are considering many companies, but only one of them can win this coveted award; here are three features of the Employer of the Year:

Exemplary leadership

You can’t take home the title of Employer of the Year without having exhibited exemplary feats of leadership. Creating a successful thriving workplace in the Solent region is no easy feat – we're looking to recognise the passionate and unwavering leaders on the ranking who have driven their businesses into the spotlight this year.

Commitment to employee wellbeing

A significant part of being a top employer is ensuring that you are maintaining the wellbeing of your employees. Going above and beyond with talent development schemes, diversity and inclusion initiatives and fostering a supportive and fun environment are key elements of becoming the Employer of the Year.

Dedication to positive impacts

Though some businesses grow through chasing success by any means necessary, the Employer of the Year will be one that has refused to compromise on quality during its growth. The Solent 250 Ranking is all about community and connectivity within the region – our winners will be companies who have created positivity within the region and benefitted everyone around them.

The Employer of the Year will be just one of six awards presented at the ranking’s annual private dinner and awards ceremony.
