Warwickshire recruitment company Consilium Recruit has signed a two-year deal with pioneering technology specialist Electroflight to source specialists in the emerging battery powered aerospace industry.

The Stratford-upon-Avon firm has started the recruitment drive for experts for the Cheltenham-based technology company despite the coronavirus lockdown.

Electroflight, which works with blue chip companies like Rolls Royce, is the UK’s first battery design consultancy established to service the aerospace and future flying vehicle market through new environmentally-friendly technology.

Steve Doyle, director of Consilium said: “For many companies’ business is carrying on so we have adapted quickly to support them.

“Electroflight need skilled, experienced specialists in battery systems and they came to us to help find them. We have replaced our usual face to face methods to current social distancing rules and while we can’t bring people together in person, we can do it virtually.

“This means Electroflight has the right people ready to set foot in the office as soon as conditions allow and, in the meantime, they can work remotely from home.

“I’m very proud of the way my team have all adapted so quickly to this new way of working and how we are doing our bit to support industry. The contract is an important milestone for us and it’s brilliant to be involved with another forward-thinking business.”

Doug Campbell, Technical Director from Electroflight said: “Despite the current situation with coronavirus we haven’t stood still and have focused on our projects and building the best team possible. Steve and his colleagues at Consilium understand our technology and the type of people we need in these engineering positions.”

With his recruitment team working from home, Mr Doyle added that Consilium is interviewing candidates remotely, assessing their capabilities and experience via video conferencing.

The Electroflight contract is the latest in a string of good news for Consilium Recruit. Last summer the firm was appointed as the official recruitment partner for the Coventry’s UKBIC research centre, while earlier this year they partnered with Birmingham firm Sprint Group to recruit 100 specialist engineers.
