The Golden Valley Development has appointed Gethin Evans as the new Communications and Marketing Lead. The appointment comes at a significant time for the multi-million-pound Cheltenham Borough Council project as it progresses through the phases moving from concept to reality.

A key part of Gethin’s role will be to help coordinate all communications from the project, as well as forging relationships with key stakeholders, engaging with local and town community groups and continual development of the brand. The Golden Valley Development is a key project not just for Cheltenham and the region but also in driving the UK cyber sector as cited in the UK Government’s Cyber Strategy.

Originally from Swansea in South Wales, Gethin now lives in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. With more than 20 years of experience, he has worked in senior roles for organisations such as the Chelsea Building Society and Robert Welch Designs Ltd and major campaigns such as British Sandwich Week and the PAPA Awards. His responsibilities have included the delivery of content for social media, press and websites, as well as design across various sectors including the food, events and hospitality industries.

Gethin said: “It’s rare to join a major project with such significance and to do so at the time when it begins to make big strides forward is such an exciting thing. And I get to tell everyone about all the great things going on.”

Paul Minnis Senior Commercial Manager said: “This is a very welcome appointment as the Golden Valley Development picks up pace in 2022 and beyond. We’ve already seen how important this is to Cheltenham and the region particularly in terms of local economic growth, skills development and the future creation of jobs. Communicating this and engaging with our many and varied stakeholders is critical to our success. Gethin has a strong pedigree in marketing and communications, and has already contributed significantly to our brand and progress.”
