CAN THE UK BUILD A SOVEREIGN SUPPLY CHAIN CAPABILITY?

SPEAKERS:

Professor David Greenwood  leads the Advanced Propulsion Systems team at WMG and the Advanced Propulsion Centre's Electrical Energy Storage Spoke. He joined WMG in 2014 from Ricardo UK Ltd where he started his career, ending as Head of Hybrid and Electric Systems. the Advanced Propulsion Systems team at WMG and the Advanced Propulsion Centre's Electrical Energy Storage Spoke.

Richard Hankinson is Director of Automotive at Unipart Logistics and Global Account Director for Jaguar Land Rover. His career at Unipart has included serving as General Manager Automotive and General Manager North America. Director of Automotive at Unipart Logistics and Global Account Director for Jaguar Land Rover.

Isobel Sheldon is Head of Business Development at UK-BIC (Batteries Industrialisation Centre). She was founder and managing director of Amberjac Projects, a batteries innovator. Subsequently she held senior roles at Ricardo and Johnson Matthey, latterly as Director of Technical Market Development and Sales at Cummins Inc following its acquisition of Johnson Matthey Battery Systems Ltd. Head of Business Development at UK-BIC (Batteries Industrialisation Centre).

COMMENTATOR: Professor Gero Kempf has been Chief Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover since 2015 and an Industrial Professor at Warwick University since 2016. He joined JLR after a high level career at BMW.

ADDRESSING THE CHALLENGE:  Professor Greenwood is renowned for his ability to see the bigger picture. Richard Hankinson is leading Unipart into battery recycling, which is set to become a key component of an indigenous EV supply chain. Isobel Sheldon leads business development at one of the most strategic enabling parts of the EV supply chain and Prof. Gero Kempf will provide the salient JLR perspective, representing the largest player and investor in the industry.
