Digital consultancy Etch Group has expanded its growing portfolio of more than 70 specialists with the acquisition of Southampton-based Moov2.

Founded in 2006 by Thomas Frame, Etch Group is a networked collective of specialist agencies that spearheads innovation in the sector by taking a collaborative, people-centred approach.

With a background working with national organisations such as Mind, Old Mutual, Maserati, the BBC and British Airways, Etch Group has experience in delivering transformational digital solutions.

The acquisition of Moov2 continues a successful year for Etch Group following the acquisition of London-based digital agency Big Radical in 2017. These acquisitions are part of Etch Group’s ongoing mission to develop a collective of the 'best talent in the sector to deliver real innovation for their clients'.

Digital specialists at Moov2 are comprised of experts in the gaming sector, developing websites, apps and supporting experiences for major national organisations such as Microsoft Studios, Sony, Hasbro, Barclays and Supermassive Games. After 16 years of success in the industry, the acquisition by Etch Group expands the skills and insights their specialist teams can provide.

Thomas Frame, Etch Group MD, commented: “My vision has always been to disrupt the traditional agency model and develop something that drives more value for everyone by driving true collaboration.

“Small independent agencies often get to a certain size and then find it hard to grow, however larger agencies seem to lose agility. The model we are creating should enable the independence and agility that clients need to drive change quickly, whilst harnessing true innovation by bringing together the best breed of specialist agencies. Acquiring Moov2 and Big Radical over the past year has been a huge leap forward in developing this model, and I am really excited to continue driving change in the sector and seeing what the future holds.”

Andrea Thomas, founder and director of Moov2, commented: “Working with Etch Group to continue and accelerate our growth is a hugely exciting step for us. As specialists in the gaming sector innovation is central to everything we do, which is why Thomas Frame’s vision for developing a collection of specialists is something that we wanted to be a part of. We’re looking forward to a very successful future together as we become part of the Etch Group.”
