Southampton-based mobile recycler E-Giant has partnered with phone retailers Buymobiles.net and Affordable Mobiles to offer customers a money-saving trade-in service.

The programme allows customers at the two companies, both owned by A1 Comms,  to trade in their unwanted mobile phone at the point of choosing a new one, to effectively reduce the monthly cost of their phone contract.

E-Giant, based in Southampton, is a globally-renowned mobile phone recycling solutions provider, working with 350 partners. The company currently processes 100,000 devices a year, and the deal with A1 Comms is expected to help E-Giant achieve double that number in the coming year.

Customers can trade-in their old mobile when buying a new one at www.buymobiles.net and www.affordablemobiles.co.uk, using the trade-in banner found on all handset pages.

A wide range of devices of all conditions and ages, from fully working to faulty, can be traded in when buying a new phone to reduce the monthly cost – saving customers up to £300 over the life of their phone contract.

Phil Henchoz, commercial director at E-Giant, said: “We are delighted to be working with A1 Comms and its leading online brands to champion a trade-in solution that simplifies the process for all customers to be able to take advantage of. Customers want a transparent, quick and easy solution that saves them money, and we are committed to delivering this.

“With the need for recycling and waste reduction ever more prevalent, this solution ensures unwanted devices provide a benefit elsewhere in the economy, as opposed to gathering dust in a drawer or adding to landfill.”

Jamie Tomlinson, head of digital at A1 Comms,  said, “Mobile phones cost so much money these days that even second-hand ones are still worth hundreds of pounds.

“We do our best to provide the best possible value for our customers, and with our new trade-ins they can now get every last penny of value from their mobile phone.”

E-Giant, founded ion 2012, provides a full range of specialist solutions from basic buy-back solutions to bulk sales and complete administration and aftersales logistics for the corporate channel.
