Hampshire’s leading mental health charity Solent Mind has launched a completely free wellbeing app. This complimentary wellbeing tool is designed to support individuals on their mental health journey and to make it easier for people to look after their emotional wellbeing.

This app supports users to take positive steps in their lives and to take control of their emotional wellbeing in fun and engaging ways, such as guided breathing activities and an interactive mood tracker.

It is a tool to be used alongside other therapies or to complement ongoing support, allowing users to strengthen their mental wellbeing.

This comprehensive new app is packed full of tips and advice for living well, from guided mindfulness exercises and healthy recipes to employment advice and interactive resources. Users can form good habits with weekly wellbeing challenges, read positive news stories and enjoy personalised activities.

Created by experienced mental health professionals and using proven wellbeing techniques and therapies, app users benefit from practical guidance for keeping on top of their mental health and wellbeing.

Solent Mind chief executive, Kevin Gardner said: “In the midst of a pandemic and with technology playing such a big part in our lives, there has never been a more vital time to offer the extra mental health and wellbeing support that can now be found in our new app, alongside our current services.”

Solent Mind’s trusted network of wellbeing centres, talking therapies and specialist recovery-focused services offered across the Solent region has given them the in-depth knowledge and expertise to identify the need for digital and instantly accessible support for users. It is also this experience that has driven the content of this app.

The support and expertise of non-profit mental health awareness organisations: We are Hummingbird and Happy Days for Everyone, has also been vital in the creation of this app.

Ron Shields, chief executive of Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust said: “The new wellbeing app is an easily accessible way of getting the extra support we need in maintaining our mental wellbeing, particularly in such difficult times.”

The Solent Mind Wellbeing App is now available to be downloaded for free from Google Play or the App Store.

Solent Mind: “We’re Solent Mind, the leading mental health charity across Hampshire.

“We’re here to make sure anyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn for advice and support. We offer a range of vital services that aim to improve mental wellbeing and we campaign to raise awareness and understanding of mental health issues. We’re here so that no one in our diverse community has to face a mental health problem alone.”
