The achievements of technology businesses that have received support from a specialist technology business accelerator in Malvern, will be celebrated during an online YouTube showcase tomorrow (Thursday 18 June).
BetaDen provides technology entrepreneurs with nine months’ business support designed to take their fledgling businesses to the next level through a comprehensive programme worth £50,000. The programme, which is tailored to the individual needs of each business, includes proof of concept grants, incubator office space, business mentoring and marketing support to help businesses develop their commercial offer and identify routes to market.
Linda Smith, CEO of BetaDen, said: “The programme has proved incredibly popular since its launch in 2018, supporting 12 technology businesses to date, several of which are now on the brink of securing further investment.
“The ‘cohort showcase’ is a key milestone at the end of each programme, providing a platform from which to promote their development achievements in the form of pitch decks to position their technologies and thank those who have supported the programme and introduce cohort businesses to potential customers, partners and investors.
“While the Covid-19 pandemic means we are not able to run this event in the usual way for Cohort 2.0, with technology changing the way many of us work, it seems fitting to make the most of these advances to move the latest showcase online.
“Not only will this enable our current cohort to mark the end of the first phase of support with their peers but, by moving the showcase online, we will also be able to bring their businesses to the attention of a far wider group of industry and investment attendees, many of which could have a key role to play in shaping their future.”
The BetaDen Cohort 2.0 showcase is free to attend and will begin at 10.30am on Thursday 18 June. All presentations will be live streamed via YouTube, with guests invited to take part in a live Q&A with the founders immediately afterwards.
The Cohort 2.0 businesses taking part include Cydon - a cyber security company seeking to give companies confidence when sharing their data across organisations; Green Gorilla Apps (Train4Good) - which has created an employee transformation programme to improve the health and wellbeing of employees through altruistic physical activities; Impact Aerial (Psidium Solutions)- a drone services solution; Utelize (Simovate) - a managed mobile solution to help large organisations create private mobile data networks; Voice Biometrics (FarX) - which aims to accelerate the adoption of voice biometrics and speech recognition for secure customer service delivery; and Wearable Link (Plinx) - a wearable technology company that uses standardised and proprietary technologies to ensure robust connectivity unto 6 miles in challenging environments.
