Dorset marine technology company savvy navvy has appointed Alex Ostler as its new Chief Marketing Officer, bolstering the company's ongoing expansion.

Alex is based in Colorado in the USA and has spent more than two decades in marketing. Her career started with Google engineering mapping technologies for Google Maps. Alex has also helped a number of tech-startups scale through expansion processes.

She said: “I'm thrilled to join savvy navvy and am eager to unlock new avenues of growth across the globe with the world’s savviest boaters.''

“The company's transformative impact on boating technology is captivating. With robust go-to-market strategies, a brilliant and diverse team, and immense potential for scaling, savvy navvy presents a golden opportunity for any marketing professional.”

Alex's appointment comes as the company passes a million downloads worldwide. The app uses a routing algorithm using wind, weather, tides, and boat settings to route boaters, kayakers, paddle boarders and Jetski users to their destination via the fastest, safest route available.

Jelte Liebrand, CEO and Founder of savvy navvy, said: “As we enter the next phase of our business, it’s the right time to build our executive team starting with the Chief Marketing Officer role with the main focus of further accelerating our growth.

''Now in our seventh year here at savvy navvy, we are actively shaping the marine industry for the better and challenging the bigger navigation apps in the market. Alex has a wealth of experience, has spent years at Google and has expertise in marketing for high-growth start-ups. We’re super excited to have her on board''.
