IoTech, a Poole-based Internet of Things specialist, has won the Tech Nation Rising Stars City Winners for Bournemouth and the South West.
The Rising Stars awards recognise the UK’s innovative early-stage tech companies, with IoTech picking up the City Winners accolade for their work on the Internet of Things, which describes physical objects with sensors processing ability, software and other tech which connect and communicate over the internet.
Among their wider work, IoTech were recognised particularly for its work on the ‘MyBoscombe’ community app, created for BCP council, which provides information to residents, businesses and visitors as part of the council’s Smart Place programme.
The win will see IoTech representing Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole at tech events across the country as part of the Tech Nations roadmap, allowing the firm to highlight its contribution to technological advances in the Internet of Things in the South West region, while promoting the innovation of its local community centre.
It will then advance to the regional and (hopefully) national finals, giving them the opportunity to promote the business to investors, accelerators, entrepreneurs, corporate leaders and the UK tech community.
