Oxfordshire cyber security business VoIP.co.uk has expanded at Bicester Innovation Centre for the fifth time in 10 years following significant growth in the UK and Europe due to the success of its award-winning encryption technology, designed to prevent telephone hacking.

Irrespective of size, most businesses communicate confidential information on a regular basis about their customers, employees, products, research and financial status, using unprotected VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol).

VoIP.co.uk has developed an award-winning solution, SIP Encrypt, to safeguard sensitive information from dangerous cyber hackers, the success of which has led to business expansion in the UK and Denmark.

This year will see the formation of a group of companies; further strengthening VoIP.co.uk’s position across Europe with Bicester Innovation Centre becoming its European headquarters.

Adam Crisp, chief technology officer (CTO) of VoIP.co.uk, explained: “Information or ‘cyber security’ is a serious issue and many businesses are only beginning to truly appreciate how easy it is for a hacker to access sensitive information.

“We are now working with a range of businesses from solicitors and accountants through to medical organisations, all of which handle highly-confidential information on a daily basis.”

VoIP.co.uk has taken an additional 339 sq ft office at Bicester Innovation Centre, its fifth office since moving to the centre in 2004. The company now occupies a total of 784 sq ft, employing 12 people in the UK, and is set to recruit a further seven sales managers in 2014.

Crisp continued: “We have been able to grow the business within the centre at a time that’s right for us. Having a professional office base with access to meeting rooms has been particularly useful for our partner training programme, which involves employees from up to 180 UK businesses visiting the centre to learn about our product. This is vital for our sales process and the centre team has consistently delivered in helping us to provide a professional service to our guests.”

Managed by Oxford Innovation, the UK’s leading operator of business and innovation centres, Bicester Innovation Centre provides businesses with the flexibility to upscale or downsize office space with just a month’s notice in addition to removing the headaches of maintaining a building and general office services.

Tom Hanney, centre manager, Bicester Innovation Centre, said: “We have a diverse range of businesses at the centre and VoIP.co.uk is a perfect example of a company that has made use of our facilities to enable significant growth.

“The company started with a virtual office service 10 years ago and the team’s success demonstrates how our flexible approach and services can help a business to focus on developing its true potential. We look forward to following VoIP.co.uk’s continued growth and meeting new members of the team later this year.”
