2e2's chances of being sold out of administration faded today after both Computacenter and Daisy Group were said to have walked away from negotiations. The administrator FTI Consulting hoped at the end of last week to be nearing a sale, but after more than 300 redundancies at the Newbury group, interest in acquiring the business as a whole appeared to be waning.
Daisy Group, which is an AIM-listed group, was reported as a potential bidder at the weekend. Recently, Daisy completed the acquisition of The Net Crowd, an IT data specialist, for an undisclosed consideration.
Berkshire-based NetCrowd is led by managing director Trevor Rolls, who was previously the founder of Prime Business Solutions which he sold to 2e2 in 2004.
