Mobile services company joins Worcestershire's tech accelerator programme

Utelize, which delivers managed mobile services for businesses with more than 100 mobile users, has joined the second cohort of Worcestershire-based technology business accelerator programme, Betaden, which launched last year.

Utelize helps customers manage their mobile airtime and connections, devices and security. By deploying the ‘Inview Mobile’ management platform and optimisation processes that Utelize has developed, they are typically able to help their customers to reduce their overall mobile costs by 20-30%.

Formed in 2012, Utelize was founded by Matt Atkinson and Kevin Steed, in response to mobile becoming the primary way of working for the majority of business workers.

Matt Atkinson, Founder of Utelize said: “In the many years that we’ve spent helping businesses to manage and improve telecoms, the one and only constant that we’ve seen is that telecoms networks simply don’t proactively look after their customers. We always hear customers complain about the same repeat issues of poor service, inaccurate billing, inflexible contracts and services that didn’t deliver the promised benefits.”

Matt and Kevin have over twenty years of experience within the telecoms industry and have been in both commercial and analyst roles as well as telecoms consultants working in large enterprise organisations. Jointly they’ve helped hundreds of IT decision makers to negotiate market leading telecoms contracts, identify and remove excess spending, and to tackle ineffective processes and wastage. And with the savings generated they’ve then helped those businesses to invest in appropriate telecoms services and technologies that can help to improve customer service and workforce productivity.

Utelize has grown significantly over the past five years and now supports a varied and growing number of enterprise customers and brands including HomeServe, Stagecoach and Mitsubishi Corporation, who trust Utelize to deliver excellent value, objective and plain speaking advice, and above all, proactive service and support.

Working as part of BetaDen’s Cohort 2.0 programme, Utelize is continuing to develop its managed mobile services and technologies, including deploying a range of next generation private mobile data services that can provide secure and high performing data links for mobile business devices like laptops and tablets as well as for connecting remote and temporary locations and vehicles both in the UK and internationally.

Utelize has also recently launched DatAlert, a new and innovative service that helps businesses to gain real time control and visibility of mobile data usage across their users wherever they are in the world and whatever network they are using - helping to remove ‘Data Bill Shock’ and to gain total control over their mobile data usage and costs.
