Worcester firm shortlisted for ‘Outstanding Contribution’ in INCA Gold awards 2019

Worcester-based internet service provider Airband has been shortlisted in two categories for the 2019 INCA Gold Awards - Outstanding Contribution and Best Technical Solution.

The 2019 awards mark the 10th anniversary of INCA (Independent Networks Co-operative Association) and they coincide with a spotlight on the broadband industry following ambitious government targets to deliver full fibre across the UK.

Airband founder and director, Redmond Peel, said he was delighted with the double nomination.

“2019 has been an amazing year for Airband. We’ve grown rapidly and have increased our capacity and gained greater industry recognition in the process; these nominations and our other shortlists and wins this year within the telecoms industry are a testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole Airband team.

“In our award bid, we profiled our fibre-to-the-premises solution, RuralOptic, which incorporates overhead fibre delivery, enabling network growth to be achieved faster and with greater coverage than with traditional fibre dig or wireless deployments. With this technology we are transforming connectivity for people and communities who deserve better,” he said.

The INCA awards were launched in 2018 to celebrate the rapidly evolving independent broadband industry in the UK. Winners will be announced at a ceremony at Manchester’s Picadilly Hotel at the 10th INCA conference on October 16.
