JET Engineering Systems Solutions will join one of the UK’s leading tech accelerators. Based at Malvern Hills Science Park, BetaDen provides a platform to help ambitious next-gen technology companies flourish and achieve the next stages of their growth.
The fact that BetaDen is co-located with one of the UK’s first 5G testbeds makes this new partnership even more ideal for JET, as it continues its development and deployment of the UK’s first 5G at sea mesh communications network.
The company said that the emphasis that BetaDen places on supporting Industry 4.0 and IoT technologies aligns exactly with its vision to enable those types of operations in both the littoral and open sea environment. Leveraging the vast amounts of mission critical data that cutting edge applications produce, such as autonomous platforms, meteorological and environmental modelling, improved risk projections, aquaculture optimisation, and renewable energy installations, requires the bandwidth and low latency capabilities of 5G.
Andy Crouch, BD Director and Co-Founder at JET, said: “Joining BetaDen as part of their fourth cohort will also provide us with access to the full scope of support that a rapidly growing start-up like JET requires. An eco-system of mentors, academics, and investors networked into the business community will position JET strongly at the forefront of the emerging technologies landscape.
“It’s hard to think how we could have planned it any better. BetaDen ticks boxes for ensuring our aggressive growth path that we hadn’t ticked yet. The BetaDen team provide a comprehensive support structure that will identify and help us plug any gaps across all areas of our business operations and planning. We expect to learn a lot that will assist long-term with our ongoing resilience. Throw in the funding and investor network that BetaDen provides and we remain immensely optimistic that our time in Malvern will witness great advancement for JET.
“The location is also ideal,” continued Andy “As we grow our footprint along the south coast, it has always been our intention to connect up the whole of the UK coastline and our desks at BetaDen provide the perfect base to continue to do just that. On a personal note, I spent much of my childhood walking the Malvern hills when my father was stationed here working on high-tech communications in the 1980’s. I look forward to walking the hills again with the team and mulling on this synchronicity.”
Linda Smith, BetaDen CEO and Founder, said: ”We are thrilled with the quality and aspiration of applicants that applied to join our fourth Cohort programme, and JET Engineering System Solutions is a prime example of that. Worcestershire’s network is fast becoming a hotbed for emerging technology talent and we identified JET’s potential of growth right away. Their applications with 5G and Industry 4.0 will literally change how we do things ‘coast to coast’ and we are proud to be a part of that by doing exactly what our tagline states, ‘Providing ‘real help for real tech’”.
“It will be a positive endorsement for Worcestershire’s investment to see this early-stage company accelerate over the nine-month programme and bring their ideas to commercial reality. I look forward to seeing the progress and the achievements that JET will make in their new home at Malvern Hills Science Park”.
