SpatialBuzz, a cloud-based customer experience analytics and service monitoring specialist, has announced the appointment of new chief executive officer Peter Young.

Young joins the SpatialBuzz team following a two-year position as head of technology at Nokia. Prior to that he held a number of senior leadership roles within the telecommunication and technology sectors.

A commercially-astute business leader, having been responsible for the commercialisation of the acquired radio technology from Mesaplexx after Nokia’s acquisition of the company in 2014, Young has a proven track record in business development and product management on an international scale.

While at Mesaplexx, the UK/Australian-based technology start-up, he held a board role and was responsible for all the commercial aspects of the business.

Prior to working for Nokia and Mesaplexx, Young led EMEA sales at Infotech, now Cyient, a leading provider of graphical information systems and services. His background in global sales and marketing was founded during his time at Aircom International, now Teoco, where he held roles such as European sales director and strategic alliances director.

“Peter is an excellent addition to the SpatialBuzz team and will provide valuable experience in both strategic and day-to-day leadership as we continue to develop the company,” said Andrew Blake, CTO.

“His proven track record as a business leader in international telecommunications companies, with an eye for intelligent commercial business decisions, will enhance our already-engaged and innovative team to take SpatialBuzz to the next level in the CEM industry.”

On his new role as CEO, Young commented: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining SpatialBuzz. It is a real privilege to work with such an innovative and dynamic team, who are helping operators improve their customers’ experience. The right CEM tools are becoming increasingly critical for the telecoms industry and it is very exciting to be able to work with our customers and team to drive the company forward, building on a really strong portfolio of unique, relationship-enhancing products.”

In 2015, SpatialBuzz was awarded the Frost & Sullivan European Cloud-based Customer Experience Management Technology Innovation Award for its 'best-in-class' CEM platform, which enables operators to obtain information about the network on a 24/7/365 basis.
