Five ways to become the Tech Leader of the Year

The South Coast’s incredible tech sector is driven by excellent leaders. Whether they’re heading up a long-established organisation or building a new business, a sense of strong leadership is vital in any industry.

At the South Coast Tech & Innovation Awards 2024, we’re looking to shine the spotlight on one particularly prevalent tech leader who’s making a real difference to the region. Sponsored by Spectrum IT Recruitment, this award will be presented to the leader who most inspires their team to achieve unrivalled results.

But with every business working under the guidance of its own leader, who will be singled out as the definitive Tech Leader of the Year? Here are five things to focus on to make sure it’s you:

Successfully integrate new technologies into your business

This is a tech-focused awards programme, and one of the easiest ways to catch our independent judges’ attention is to be able to demonstrate how you’ve been successful in using new technologies to upgrade your business in terms of its effectiveness and efficiency.

Contribute to your community

Being a good business leader goes beyond simply caring for your employees and the results of your organisation. As a figure within the region, you have a responsibility to be mindful of how you’re impacting the South Coast as a whole – contributing to your community in a positive way will be greatly beneficial towards taking home the trophy.

Implement impactful initiatives

An effective leader is always developing their business. Implementing new initiatives is crucial in ensuring that your growth trajectory stays healthy and your employees stay happy. When filling in your nomination form, spare no details about how you have successfully brought about fresh initiatives for your company.

Foster innovation

To truly be an influential leader, it’s important to recognise that when it comes to fostering innovation within your organisation, collaboration and compromise are paramount. We want to see how you’ve worked closely with your team to reach the common goal of driving forward change within the South Coast’s tech sector.

Effectively navigate challenges

The best leader is not the one who faces the fewest obstacles, it’s the one who handles them in the most admirable way. We want to hear every factor that has contributed to your leadership being a cut above the rest – our independent judges want to know all the challenges you’ve faced and how you’ve demonstrated strong leadership in overcoming them.

So, do you think you’ve got what it takes to be named the Tech Leader of the Year at the South Coast Tech & Innovation Awards 2024
