ByBox, specialists in smart locker technology and field service solutions, announced the appointment of David Gray Wilson as its chief operations officer (COO).

Wilson will be charged with supporting ByBox’s global growth, driving and implementing operational strategy, further developing its technology and App-based locker offering, and ensuring ByBox continues to provide excellent service to all of its customer base.

Joining the business with over 25 years’ experience in the telecoms, IT, and gaming technology sectors, Wilson brings a wealth of leadership experience in technology-based businesses across EMEA and North America. Most recently as COO of Inspired Gaming, a leading gaming technology business, Wilson was an early adopter of ByBox solutions and a customer for over 10 years. Having utilised the entire ByBox solutions platform, Wilson has a comprehensive understanding of customers’ needs and ByBox products and services. This will be hugely valuable to defining the next phase of ByBox’s strategic solutions roadmap.

“Having worked closely with ByBox over the years, it’s great to be joining this innovative, agile and ambitious company. I’m delighted to be part of the ByBox movement, which is delivering positive value and disruptive change across the entire field service industry – from its technology and services through to its people.” remarked Wilson. “Coming together with ByBox offers a great opportunity to leverage ByBox UK expertise and technology and apply my past experience in successful deployment of technology-based products into global markets.

As the field service market grapples with rapid change and increasingly aggressive SLAs, technology is taking the lead on enabling businesses and their technicians to offer quicker fixes. Yet the final mile and collection of critical parts continues to frustrate the process. ByBox’s global locker-based technology platform is designed specially to extinguish unnecessary cost and increase customers’ service levels. As ByBox continues to innovate, Wilson will be fundamental to the expansion of its App Locker network and cementing its market leadership position.

“We’re thrilled that Dave chose ByBox. His experience of deploying critical technology globally will be invaluable to us over the next phase of our growth. His understanding of customers’ will also be a great fit for ByBox.” commented Stuart Miller, chief executive officer, ByBox. “After we launched our ground-breaking ‘Switch’ service at RBTE earlier this month, Dave has hit the ground running. Given our global growth trajectory and Dave’s depth of experience, the timing of him joining ByBox simply could not be better.”
