Slough Train Station has had a colourful facelift that aims to celebrate the role the town plays in the global economy.

The mural was sponsored by data centre operator Equinix and is part of the #ARTSCAPE initiative which aims to transform the area through art.

US-headquartered Equinix has a data centre complex in Slough.

The artwork was created by Jho, a Colombian visual artist based in the town, who graduated in Visual Arts from the Universidad del Valle, Colombia.

Bruce Owen, UK Managing Director of Equinix, said: "We're proud to have commissioned this beautiful piece, thanks to the remarkable talent of Jho.

"As a company, we take great pride in being part of the Slough community and will continue to invest in hiring and developing local talent and driving sustainable digital transformation."

Equinix worked in partnership with The Slough Hub, The Slough Bid, Great Western Railways, Slough Borough Council.

The Slough Hub website detailed the aim of the artwork, noting:

"Set against the backdrop of Slough, a town bustling with the energy of data centers, the mural resonates with a deeper truth. Here, in this hub of technology, where Equinix, the Sponsor is based. The mural finds its purpose. It echoes the spirit of a company dedicated to bridging divides, linking Slough not just to the world of technology but to the global community.”
