Crowthorne-based SIRE Technology, a leading supplier of cloud-based solutions, has further expanded its team with the appointment of Nick Hewitt in the new role of director of sales. Bringing with him extensive knowledge of both operations and business systems solutions, Hewitt will be looking to open up opportunities for the company in new vertical markets, in particular software houses, telecoms and travel companies.
Russell Cook, managing director at SIRE, said; "We are delighted that Nick has taken this role and his extensive experience will be a valuable asset for both our customers and also to us at SIRE as our business continues to grow and evolve."
Hewitt, having worked with companies including Vallent (later bought by IBM) and Informix, (also bought by IBM), and Granite (which was taken over by Telcordia and later purchased by Ericsson), believes that many of the telecoms players are yet to fully realise the benefits of the cloud and that SIRE is ideally placed to develop and deliver tailor-made, cloud-based solutions that will give these organisations a real commercial edge. "I'm relishing the opportunity of working with the SIRE team. The proven solutions they have developed for the travel industry and software companies are eminently transferrable to the estate agency model and with the housing market flourishing there are opportunities to be had."
Hewitt's previous roles cover a 25-year period and have seen him in a variety of sales and marketing senior management roles, not only in the UK but also with responsibility across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. He also has experience of the housing market, through his recent work with a property management and development company.
