BAE Systems sign computing contract with U.S. Military
BAE Systems has secured a US military contract worth almost £580million.
The Defense Supercomputing Resource Centre contract is for five years. BAE Systems have their headquarters in Farnborough, Hampshire.
The agreement, which was signed last month, provides the U.S. Army with management and technical support to advance services, capabilities, infrastructure, and technologies for the Navy DSRC, Stennis Space Center, Mississippi; the Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) DSRC, Vicksburg, Mississippi; the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) DSRC, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio; and the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) DSRC, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
The U.S. Army has awarded the communications, research and development contract worth £578/$699 million, in order to provide: "A complete advanced computing environment for the DoD that includes unique expertise in software development and system design, powerful high-performance computing systems, and a premier wide-area research network," said Lisa Hand, Vice President and general manager of BAE Systems Integrated Defense Solutions.

“This award reaffirms the best-in-class experience our Huntsville team delivers for our government partners as a leading systems integrator of solutions and advanced technologies.”

BAE Systems provides expert systems engineering, integration, and sustainment services, as well as advanced electronics, intelligence, security, and IT solutions and support services to enhance mission effectiveness. These solutions are deployed across the Department of Defense and federal civilian agency platforms and networks in land, air, sea, space, and cyber domains.
