Thames Valley: Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead welcomes new director
The importance the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead places on rejuvenating town centres and the economic opportunities of the borough has been underlined by the appointment of a director of regeneration and economic development.
Chris Hilton joins the council this month from the London Borough of Croydon where he was senior regeneration manager.
Cllr MJ Saunders, cabinet member for planning and property, said: “We welcome Chris and look forward to enjoying the benefits of his expertise and experience, including a strong track record of combining physical regeneration and economic development programmes.
“Already he has come up with some promising ideas about how to progress the council’s vision for Maidenhead town centre and throughout the borough.”
Hilton, a chartered surveyor with experience in the private and public sector, said: “There are some very exciting development schemes in the pipeline for Maidenhead town centre and I am particularly looking forward to ensuring that these are delivered to the highest possible standards.”
Regeneration is a major issue in the Royal Borough, especially in Maidenhead where the council is actively working with partner organisations to bring about much-needed and wanted rejuvenation in the town centre.
