CBRE in Southampton has promoted development specialist James Shelley to associate director. He joined CBRE’s development department early in 2006 to work alongside senior development director Mark Budden.

Shelley graduated in 2004 from Kingston University with a 2.1 BSc (Hons) in Real Estate Management, following which he took a structured gap year working in southern Spain for a private developer - predominantly negotiating with local government and planning departments for principally residential sites.

Since joining CBRE Shelley has worked on strategic land acquisitions, disposals and valuations as well as advising clients on medium or long-term development opportunities across the South Central region.

Commenting on his promotion, Budden said: “James fully deserves his promotion which is recognition of his professional achievements over recent years and his standing in the business community.”
