EY has announced the launch of Entrepreneur Of The Year 2016 awards, that recognises entrepreneurs through its regional programme across the south of England.

Now in its 30th year globally and 18th in the UK, the Entrepreneur Of The Year programme supports EY’s overall commitment to entrepreneurship and celebrates business leaders who are helping to reshape the regional economy.

EY is calling for nominations from business leaders across the Thames Valley & South Coast, who have demonstrated entrepreneurial flair while growing or turning around the fortunes of their organisation in the UK or overseas – whether private or listed, socially-orientated, family-owned or private-equity backed, across all commercial and industrial sectors.

Entries are now open until March 11, 2016, with finalists announced in April. The programme starts at a local level, with other regional programmes taking place in Scotland, the North of England and the Midlands. Regional winners then progress to the UK finals in October, and the overall UK winner goes on to compete for the title of World Entrepreneur Of The Year in Monte Carlo next year.

Dave Hales, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Partner for London and south said: “With Reading and the surrounding Thames Valley being highlighted as a key area of economic growth in 2015, the region’s entrepreneurial business community is growing and we’re seeing huge opportunities for companies looking to expand and grow.

“At EY, we’re passionate about helping these high potential businesses grow their operations, both in the UK and overseas. Entrepreneur Of The Year celebrates the successes of these businesses in driving innovation, creativity and confidence in the local market and ultimately creating jobs, wealth and prosperity across the region.”
