Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK, has appointed Martin Brown as share schemes director in the firm’s employer solutions team.

Bristol-based Martin is a specialist in advising firms on the design and implementation of employee share plans, workplace incentives and employee ownership trusts. He also has tax expertise in employment related securities matters, including the taxation of management shareholdings on company sales and transactions. He joins from PKF where he led the share plan and reward offering and previously held roles at Grant Thornton and the Big Four.

His experience extends across a wide range of organisations, including small start-ups, middle market businesses and larger multinationals in the FTSE 100 and Fortune 500, as well as US-listed companies. He has also advised on cross-border share plan structuring which can be rolled out in multiple jurisdictions.

In his new role, Martin will be responsible for the share schemes offering locally, regionally and nationally, and will focus on the continued growth of the firm’s expertise and capabilities within employer solutions.

Martin said: ‘Incentivisation of the workforce is of upmost importance if businesses are to attract, motivate and retain employees to drive performance and achieve their strategic goals; but one size doesn’t fit all. It’s key to understand an organisation’s individual needs and goals to produce a solution that will make a difference to their business and their employees.’

Joanne Webber, Bristol employer solutions partner at RSM UK, added: ‘Martin’s experience will be invaluable in bolstering our offering and the support we’re able to provide clients both regionally and nationally. It’s great to have him on board.’
