Provider of enterprise-level technology services and software solutions Mastek has appointed Sudhakar Ram as chief executive officer its UK division. Ram has relocated to the company’s UK head office and will assume full responsibility for the region.

Continuing in his role as group CEO and managing director of Mastek, Ram’s appointment by the board of directors reflects the strategic importance of UK to Mastek’s overall business. The UK is a key geography for Mastek and Ram will be integral in supporting its continued growth across key industries including financial services, retail and the public sector.

Ram will also be responsible for increasing collaboration across other geographies, as part of Mastek’s vision to promote consolidated growth in all markets on a global basis.

His previous success in developing leadership, commitment, creativity and culture was recognised when he was awarded CNBC Asia’s ‘India Business Leader of the Year’ in 2007. He is also a silver medallist from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and the author of The New Constructs, an initiative to leverage connected intelligence in the digital age.

Ram commented: “Mastek has a great track record in delivering transformational platforms in areas such as health, transport and education, life and pension platforms, retail data warehouses and the like. As the UK IT enterprise scene continues to develop, our vision is to ensure that Mastek is positioned at the forefront of this evolution. I look forward to using my existing experience and skillset to help Mastek successfully scale and execute its plans within this region.”
