Independent school caterer Holroyd Howe has announced the appointment of Amy Roberts as managing director of operations.

As the business continues to grow, the newly created role will see Reading-based Roberts spearhead Holroyd Howe’s operational teams across the UK, championing one unified approach across operations, food innovation, chef development, nutrition, sustainability, and marketing.

Roberts, an Acorn and Catey award winner, has worked with Holroyd Howe for over four years, and throughout that time has implemented a sustainability strategy for over 200 schools, industry accredited education programme, enabling over 10,000 pupils a year to be educated on the importance of nutrition. She has also led the organisation’s health and wellbeing, and marketing strategy.

Ronan Harte, chief executive at Holroyd Howe, said: “Amy brings the very best of Holroyd Howe to the schools we work with. The new role will see her lead with an innovative and tailored approach, whilst maintaining consistency in the quality of service and food we provide. Amy has all the ingredients to lead our operations team, bringing excellence to the schools we work with and ensuring our clients benefit from her hands-on style.”

Amy Roberts said: “It’s an incredibly dynamic and successful time at Holroyd Howe and I am delighted to be taking on this new role and working closely with Ronan, Nick, and the highly experienced Holroyd Howe team.

“Working exclusively in the independent schools’ sector, we have always absolutely understood the specific challenges our clients face and been able to adapt to support their needs. COVID-19 has undoubtedly provided our sector with the biggest challenge. We are now working closely with schools to ensure they are fully prepared, equipped, and supported for pupils and staff to safely return in September. We will bring a unique offer to each of our Schools with bespoke dining solutions and stunning food offers that are creative, tasty, sustainable, and nutritious.”
