Societe Generale Private Banking Hambros (SGPB Hambros), the UK wealth management arm of Societe Generale Private Banking, has appointed additional private bankers to its Newbury and Edinburgh offices. The appointments reflect the bank’s on-going commitment to its regional development strategy as it continues to provide tailored private banking services to clients.

Daniel Way and Jeremy Hill join as senior private bankers at the Newbury office. Both join from Barclays Wealth, where they worked as private bankers and were jointly responsible for setting up its Reading office.

Douglas Barton, who joins from PricewaterhouseCoopers and has previously worked for HSBC and RBS, joins the Edinburgh office.

Commenting on the new hires, Christophe Billard, group commercial director at SGPB Hambros, said: “We are delighted to welcome our new private bankers, who bring such a broad range of experience with them and we believe this will prove invaluable in further establishing our expertise and services in Newbury and Edinburgh. Our regional expansion is a further testament to our commitment to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our clients, improving their experience and providing them with the best financial advice available.”

Daniel Way worked in the Investment Banking Division of UBS from 1996 until 2007; he joined Barclays Wealth in March 2008 and was jointly responsible for setting up its Reading division in January 2012. He studied Economics and Statistics at the University of Exeter before attending the College of Law in York.

Jeremy Hill started his career in client and business development at IBM, where he worked from 1997 until 2005, and has been involved in business change and consultancy work. He spent three years at Barclays Wealth and was jointly responsible for setting up its Reading office in January 2012. Jeremy has a BA Hons in Geography from the University of Southampton.
